I missed this on Sunday but it turns out that Carnival of light, the until now mythical 14 minute avant garde track by the Beatles does exist. Influenced by Karlheinz Stockhausen and John Cage, it was considered too far out even by the Beatles' creative yard-stick. Paul McCartney was interviewed BBC Radio 4's Front Row, which will be broadcast on Thursday 20 November at 1915 GMT.

It will certainly be interesting to hear it. By all accounts, it's a McCartney's freak-out, recorded a full 18 months before Lennon's similarly avant-garde Revolution #9.
The description of it from Mark Lewisohn reads:
"distorted, hypnotic drum and organ sounds, a distorted lead guitar, the sound of a church organ, various effects (water gargling was one) and, perhaps most intimidating of all, John Lennon and McCartney screaming dementedly and bawling aloud random phrases like 'Are you alright?' and 'Barcelona!'"
Bring it on!
